    Quite possibly, the Prius "c" may be a rebadged version of the European Yaris hybrid.

    I've seen two versions of the Yaris. One looks exactly like a Prius c; the other looks like a boiled egg... :unsure:

    Nothing. The Prius C will continue to be build in Japan using the same platform that other Japanese Toyota models use.

    Why not build the C on a Mazda 2 chassis? It helps production in the new Mazda factories and eases production at Toyota.
    Besides, today's Mazda2 chassis is much better than the Yaris chassis today so an improved Yaris/Prius C chassis is better for us all. For one thing the newer chassis will fare better in that offset frontal collision test. Even if its only one car tested which is not statitically valid but could be useful.

    As a direct response to tgpii's post this is a bit misleading. So just to avoid any confusion:
    The Prius C is the Aqua in Japan, and the Yaris is called Vitz.

    If somethings are repeated above I do apologize. No I am not spamming. I have a 2012 Prius C first year of the car. I know it had a mild mid cycle refresh. I heard rumors due to the SUV craze Toyota is going to drop the Prius C and V. So my 2012 Prius has no issues and about 88,000 miles. I am thinking of trading in and get a Yaris. However I like the lift back but I know the Mazda 2/Yaris sedan is a better deal. Any thoughts. Thank you!

    Why even trade? Your Prius has 88k. From what I read around these forums, it'll be due for a replacement High Voltage Battery soon, but 2k is a heck of a lot cheaper than 18k.

    Now if your like me an tire of driving the same thing and just want a change, then go with the Yaris.

    "Soon"... there are folks on here with well over 300k miles with the original battery. YMMV.

    Yeah, true - never know.

    All the HV battery horror stories you see on this site.... Kinda skews one's opinion of how long one will last while not considering just how many Prius' are out there.

    I've seen less than 50 folks mention it on this site, total. Fairly certain that's still a pretty small number, percentage wise.

    But then, it's hard to see the light through darkness when you're surrounded by it.

    We have thousands of members on this site that don't have a problem, squeaky wheel and something about getting the cheese. :D Insert euphemism here.
