Here's a thread another Prius owner and I have been having over at DIYMA about SQ budget Prius install: Prius Budget Build Questions - Car Audio | DiyMobileAudio.com | Car Stereo Forum I looked at the PPI 900.5, but was concerned about the power output for the sub. If going PPI, I would probably go with the P900.4 for the fronts and a P600.2 for the sub. I ended up buying a used Alpine PDX v9 as part of a package deal with a PDX F4. My feeling was that the Alpine is a step up in quality and used it wasn't much more than the PPI. I'll be selling the F4 if you are looking for a separate 4 channel.
This is my first real build and decided it was cheaper, cleaner to go with a 5 channel if I wanted to go the two amp route and get a separate 1000W I would have had to hold off on the subwoofer for a while...I actually got the PPI Black Ice 800.4 channel to begin with and in hindsight it would have been good to spend a little more for an amp that could do at least 750watts to the subs but I'm more than happy with the specs of what I got now... I'm prob not gonna listen to it on full blast very often... That link helped, thanks! I have an old sealed box that should be within the right volume, maybe a tad small, till I get together the funds for a box and flared pvc pipe build...also boomsday came reccmended on caraudio.com forums; he builds boxes for just shipping and materials...
