So now that there is a $4,000 financing incentive for April, how much are people paying now for their 2014 PIPs? I'm shopping around and the best quote I have received so far is $25,154 (with floor mats) plus taxes and fees with out-the-door price of $28,172.81. This is not taking into account the $2500 federal and $1500 state incentives. Thoughts? Suggestions on where we can get a better offer?
With HOV Sticker? Take it. Otherwise I think you might be able to do a bit better, but that's still a great price.
No HOV sticker. No one is budging now on cars with HOV stickers. The best they can do with the HOV sticker is just the $4000 incentive and no additional discounts. We've spoken to several dealers in the LA area already, most of whom won't even try to match that quote, but if you have a specific dealership to contact please reply here or PM me. Thanks!
Just so you guys are aware. The $1500 state rebate fund is out as of March 28. If you buy the car in April, you will be put on a waiting list until they have more fund. Also you might not even be eligible to get the $2500 federal tax credit. There is a limit on this and only the first 200,000 car sold since 2010 can get the $2500 federal tax credit. The last time I check at the beginning of march, they sold around 190,000 car already so I am not sure if the number exceed 200,000 now. Not to mention the fact that the HOV sticker is gone unless you can somehow find a dealer that is willing to give you one.
The $2500 rebate is part of the federal program which is limited to 200,000 cars per manufacturer. Toyota hasn't sold anywhere near 200,000 plugin cars, so that rebate should be safe.
I have lots of cars with HOV stickers. These are being sold at MSRP with HOVs and a pretty decent discount without the HOV sticker. In SoCal, we have $4000 incentive to lease or use the 0 apr for 60 months. There's a $3000 incentive for those who need to pay cash for credit reasons. Today, I have all colors available with and without HOVs assigned. The faster acting buyers will get the stickers on delivery. I would imagine there are dealers hiding or hoarding cars that have green stickers who plan to wait till the stickers are all gone and start charging over MSRP. The market may bear this in certain areas. If the carpool stickers do not matter to you, that surprises me, because I think RESALE much like everyone else. Those are good thru 2019.
