I'm looking at Gen III models in the uk, and have recently become aware that some of them should also have adaptive cruise control (if they got the Safety pack), and I'm trying to work through the differences between the images of the models. Is the blue-shadowed Toyota badge exclusive to those models with ACC (some posts on here seem to indicate that the badge plays a part in the radar assembly). If that is the case, then they seem to be relatively common. If it's not, then it looks like I'm back to the drawing board.
All the hybrid models have the blue T Toyota badge. Not sure where the radar is on the UK models as it was such a rare option and only on the facelift gen3's if my memory serves me well. Perhaps one of our American friends could take a picture of their radar and give you half a chance of finding a UK model. Good luck
It had to be a T Spirit at least and was a rare option from what I can remember reading before It was something like 3k sterling for the pack, so not many takers at that price
The Toyota badge on the front of radar equipped models is smooth. On others without radar cruise, the chrome Toyota emblem sticks out while the blue background is recessed behind the chrome. A mentioned they all will have blue backgrounds beginning gen 3. I'll post pics in a bit. Radar emblem: Non radar emblem:
Hmm, ok, then. From what I can tell, in the American models, it's an extra set of buttons on the wheel (occupying the right side, opposite the voice control ones), but I've not seen anything like that in any of the uk ones. Might be that those that have it just haven't wanted to give it up! Thanks for that. So it is possible to tell, just not easy.
It was offered in the summer of 2010 and onwards as the Safety Pack and then in 2012 as the Technology Pack. 3G Prius (2010-?) Standard and Optional Equipment (Some Countries) | PriusChat Scroll down to the UK (between the US and Japan)
