I was charging my 2012 Prius Plug-In at the office when the building lost a Phase. I unplugged the cable until the power was restored. When I went to Lunch, I unplugged the cable, Started the car, saw that I had 9+ battery miles as expected. But then the display changed to "Check Hybrid System, Stop the Vehicle in a Safe Place" with the triangle I and the Check Engine light. It drove fine to Lunch and Back, but I don't know how to Reset the message. Toyota Care doesn't have a Tech Support Group that can help. They only tow. I had to setup a Dealer appointment. Any Suggestions.
hi ken! try disconnecting the 12v for a few minutes. if that doesn't do it, you might need a code reader, auto zone? all the best!
Recommend giving it a full charge when you get home and seeing if it corrects itself.... Might have just thrown an error because of the interruption. Sorry, that thread title cracked me up.
OK, the Power Failure was Monday before Noon and I first noticed the "Check Hybrid System" display when I went to Lunch. I charged it 100% before going home, used it up to get there and charged it up again. Tuesday morning the "Check Hybrid System" display was still there. Drove to work and charged it there. When I went to Lunch, the "Check Hybrid System" display wasn't there !!! GREAT. SO, the display lasted only 24 hours. Interesting. Document it.
