I have a 2014 Standard Prius 2. I want to know where I can buy and the size of the nylon/plastic push fasteners, that hold the shield/apron that covers the oil drain plug and oil filter housing under the Prius..??
I have used this link to purchase fasteners for my Burgman 650 and the were almost a match for the original fasteners and worked fine. I am sure that they would have the correct size for the Prius. You can check at: Good luck! Mainer

Toyota uses a 7mm nylon push rivet. The current ones are a light friction fit for easy of installation, speed and less strain on the line workers. The older type with a Phillips head center hold better. I've replaced all of them on my Prius"v" with them.
I was digging in my heels at some exhorbitantly priced (for another car, but similar story), and found some third-party fasteners for about 1/4 the price, at a local automotive speciality shop: Napco Technician Quality, Collision Repair, "Push Type" Retainer Googled but they don't seem to have any web presence. Anyway, If you have another of the fasteners, visit a few automotive stores, see what they offer?
I just go to my Toyota dealer and get fasteners. Most are less than $1 each. I can also verify with the parts department that I am getting the correct fastener that I am looking for. This proves Murphy's Law, since I have bought spare fasteners I have not broken another one ! Of course most of this is that I have learned the proper way to remove them
When on the road or in a crunch situation, If you pull one of every size you are looking for and take it to ace hardware you can usually find one close enough to work.
I bought some turquoise ones from the local Toyota dealer as I knew I needed 2 to replace the spoiler and wanted a some spares . The dealer had both turquoise and white but thought they were the same. The ones I knew I had to replace were turquoise so thats what I got. I've just pulled the trim off the inside of the hatch and see that they use both types so I assume they differ in some way. Does anyone know what the difference is?
I'm guessing, but if the parts counter said they looked the same, I'll bet is is location. What do they look like to you?
There can be subtle differences, and sometimes you can live with the differences. The diameter might be the same, but the locking jaws might be a different distance along the body, it's got a bit more/less "grip". I've had a few instances, with Honda fasteners, that I was trying to use the shorter one in the longer hole. Pushing with thumb it wouldn't lock. But a tap with a hammer and it would, and got a bit easier next time. Still, I suspect that weakens them, causes them to fracture/blow up sooner than later.
The ones with the Philips heads and closely spaced for removal hold best. I've seen 15 year old ones still in place. The only reason that they converted to the ones that use less pressure to install was that they required less force and time to install on the assembly line. I've replaced them all at for my under body panels.
