I purchased this car last week. So far I have pulled the emblems and had them painted gloss black with automotive paint. Had the tail lights tinted and windows are 5% and windshield done also. I plan on getting the factory center caps in the near future.

No it's a painting process where you take automotive grade clear and add a few drops of black paint. Then spray several coats until you get the shade you want. If you want it a little lighter you can add a few drops of blue paint so it doesn't show a brown tint.
5% all around? That crazy man. I had that before and when night hit. Very hard to see. How much fix it ticket cost in CA for tint? I'm not sure if they pull you over now consider a moving violation for tint.
Any tint taillight is borderline getting a ticket. That depend on the cop. Some of them are very emotional in CA
A fix it ticket here in Cali is $25 + whatever the inspection center charges. Some CHP locations do it for free.
I had 5% way back when on another car and I couldn't see anything at night...35% to me is just about right all around, excluding the front windshield. At one point, the CHP just issued me a straight ticket for tinted windows. Maybe too many of the same fix-it ticket? Who knows.
Well in South Carolina we do not have inspections. I have gotten a ticket before for front windshield tint but just paid the fine and left the tint on. There are only a few HP that will write that ticket. Although it is a federal offense not just state. But the overall aesthetics and driver comforts definitely outways any ticket I may receive. I do not have a problem at night because the only thing I need to see are headlights and anywhere with pedestrians around here has good lighting.
