I have a 2012 V with the HDD Navigation. In Boston (and I presume in other large cities) there are roads that have the same house number across various zip codes. So, for example, 235 Washington Street can be found in 3 distinct zip codes in the same city (Boston). I would like to be able to put in the zip code for the address I want to go to. Right now it gives me my the completely useless latitude and longitude coordinates (with great precision, I might add!), but unless I am in the deepest jungle this does not help in the least. My authorized Toyota dealer could not figure out how to change it to show the zip code associated with the address I just entered. Please tell me that the designer of this system is not that big a doofus! So, again, how do I enter the zip code for the address I want to go to? Joe
Doesn't it seem odd that a zip code can be entered on the basic navigation but not on the super-duper HDD nav? I just tried myself and did not find a way to enter or to display the zip code on the HDD nav in our 2012 Prius v Five. What you might try is to choose the "triplicate" addresses one at a time and then press the map button when you see the latitude and longitude displayed. When the map is displayed, then press the zoom out button multiple times until you can get a perspective on which part of the city that particular destination is located. I just now did this on a Kansas City address that I know is in two completely different areas of the city and this technique made it easy for me to tell one from the other.
Hey, don't knock Lat. & Long. If it was good enough for Captain James Cook FRS RN (check wiki for his voyages of exploration and his legacy (he didn't need no steenkin' zip-codes!)), it's good enough for me!
