I doubt if it will give you any satisfaction but when I bought my 2011 Prius Two new I feel like I got the shaft as well. I just recently traded it for a new Avalon and I feel much better about the deal I got from this different dealer. You are not alone in what you experienced.
Congrats on your Prius purchase from another new owner in Florida! I just got a 2014 Prius Two for $24,435 out the door. That includes the addition of a backup camera and window tint. Sorry your buying experience was unpleasant, but I think you got a decent deal. I'm sure you'll love your new Prius! What did you drive before?
Thanks Eva. I drove a 2001 BMW 530I (15MPG City!). Out of curiosity, did you do the 0% APR or a trade in? Part of why I am wondering this is I am trying to figure out if they made an honest mistake or were playing games. Once I was approved for 0% APR, they increased the price by over $1000 and said the other price was an accident, and it was a huge three hour ordeal to even get it at this higher price. BTW...if you haven't explored "Air Blue" tint on your windshield in Florida, you don't know what you are missing. It significantly reduces heat in the car and reduces AC load.
i have heard southeast toyota is pretty bad, but it sounds like a decent price to me. congrats and all the best! i'll skip the lawyer jokes.
Mike, any interest in meeting up with other Prius owners in Orlando? And where did you get the "Air Blue" tint done? Mike,
Not sure if you are looking to have tint done, but I am having my car done next Saturday. LLumar ctx 30% on the sides, AirBlue 80 on windshield and back glass, Tint Man Window Tinting - Car Window Tinting Prices & description
Welcome to the forum. I paid just over $24K out the door with tint, mats and some paint protection on my III. If I went with the toyota 0% they would have added back in the dealer incentive of $1750 to the price.
Thanks DaneH5...out of curiosity, when you say out the door, did you do a trade in or anything that helped on taxes, or was that for a straight walk through the door and buy a new car? Trying to decide for the next time around what dealership to go through.
No trade, OTD was taxes, tag, fees etc. I search and priced for about two months. New and used. A dealer with lifetime power train would be the only difference in future possibly.
I guess I need to go car shopping with you next time. Did they get you to finance through them or anything? That price is the cheapest I have heard in Florida for out the door on a three. That would mean before taxes it was only around $22k. Everytime I responded to a deal like that, each dealership around here said that price was only if I financed for at least six months through SETF. I hope this car lasts me forever so I don't have to do this again anytime soon.
Yep! $21800 car with tint, mats. Add dealer fee, tax, etc. Had quote for a south Carolina dealer about same price with lifetime power train and oil changes too. Decided to go local instead. Sun was close too, but didn't have vehicle yet in stock. Was 10 days out on a ship heading to port. I might consider a plug-in if more charging stations show up. I did use Toyota finance, but didn't have to. Credit union offered 1.9% and Toyota gave me 2.4%.
Looking to get mine tinted in the next few weeks. Also trying to get a group of prius owners to meet once a month to just share info, network etc. Completely understand the kid commitments. Have two myself that keep us running. If you don't mind let me know how the tint turns out. How much was it?
