Just dropping a post to say hi everybody. Just got my first Prius, a 2006 red one with about 102000 miles. So far I love it . First tank averaged 51.3 mpg for 392 miles according to the screen. Still have to fill in stuff on my profile page but wanted to say hello. I am in Seattle, Go Hawks!! :D

Thanks for the welcome, I am changing my 12 volt battery tomorrow, anyone know of a better than normal post about doing it? I shouldn't have a problem as I know which end of a wrench to hold but looking for some pointers on making it go smoothly.

OK, changed the battery and glad I did. The date code on the existing battery is from 2006. One thing though, Optima web site says it is a direct replacement for my Prius. had to bend the holder a bit as the battery is a tad longer, also had to get a slightly longer bolt for the hold down. Working great though, WoHoo!
