Navigation won't load...stuck on loading map and spinning disc icon

    I have a 2012 Prius and when i press "Map" it won't open. It is stuck on loading page and spinning icon. Help.

    Have you tried ejecting the disk and reloading? If so and under 36k miles, take it to the dealer.

    I don't think there's a cd for 2012 version. Also, I've passed the warranty mileage...I'm at 60K.

    reset the car and see what happens.

    disconnect the 12v negative for a few seconds.

    when you said reset the car..do you mean turn off the car? How do you disconnect the 12V negative? Thanks.

    I mean to disconnect the 12v battery in the hatch area. Just the negative will work, disconnect it for 30 seconds and reconnect. You will need a 10mm socket or wrench.

    This will reboot the radio, in case it's stuck on a screen it shouldn't be stuck on.

    disconnecting it wouldn't help if I am not wrong.
    U may have to get a new unit, I suspect the storage on the HW is corrupted.

    My 3013 Prius started doing the same, "Loading Map" msg with spinning icon. Dealer wants $139 to diagnose. Sure would like to get this fixed but $$$?

    Have you tried ejecting the DVD (slot below the CD slot behind the MFD), wiping it off and re-inserting? I was getting periodic read errors while driving and ejected the disk and found some dust to wipe off. Worth a try.
