Without turning on the low beam headlight, is this possible?? Thanks Edit: To clear any confusions, I just want the high beam light on when I push down the headlight stick instead of high beam light and low beam light on together. Reasons I'm doing this is because I have HID as low beam, so when I need to use high beam in super dark or mountainous region, I don't need the HID to be on with high beam. Although HID light is bright enough lol.
Anything is possible, but why would you want to do that? If it's for DRLs, then they should be run at reduced power to decrease glare, increase visibility, and use less power. SCH-I535
The only way I know of is to pull the headlight switch arm toward you while the headlights are off. The high beams will be on for as long as you have feeling in your fingers. I wouldn't recommend it though, since you will get the drivers coming toward you highly agitated. Bill the Engineer
It could be done easily using a relay. But if it is for DRLs, then you can get a DRL module like the one linked in my signature under highbeam DRLs. SCH-I535
My C came equipped with DRLs from the factory. I hope the OP comes back and tells us exactly what he is trying to accomplish. I think that pulling the high beam stalk when the headlights are off will activate the high beams (flash to pass).

I may be wrong, but I think that's the way it works. When push headlight to go to high beams, low beams go off.
+1, but you have some rewiring to do. You're wrong. Lowbeams stay on, or go on when flash to pass is activated. That's why OP doesn't want the hids to be activated because it's bad for the ballasts.
Yeah.. why provide more light than necessary to help with safety while driving at night... darn you Toyota... Why does it matter? Turning your HIDs on and off that often will just make them wear out quicker anyhow.
Well it's really pointless to have a 50w-65w high beam on together with low beam light. It kills the low beam bulb shelve life and doesn't make a difference since high beam is already bright enough. It's even worse when I have HID as low beam.
High beams point higher up on the road than the low beams do. I, personally, wish that my fogs wouldn't turn off when I turned on my brights.
I am confused why anyone would want to see less of the road. The high beams are aimed out much farther than the low beams, so it will be dark just in front of your car without low beams. (I am very rural, and still use high beams less than 1/3 of the time, due to oncoming traffic) The v has low beams on when high beams are on, as well as running lights that illuminate the side of the road, good for spotting animals.
