I want to add a navigation system with bluetooth that supports live streaming from my iPhone. Does anyone have a preference? I've looked into several units (Pioneer AVIC-Z130BT, Car Show CS-Prius10-US, Kenwood DNX9980HD, Alpine INE-Z928HD), but I don't know which to go with. Any suggestions?
I have a 2012 model, if it makes any difference. Anything has to be better than the factory unit. The dealer told me it was "around $8000" to upgrade it. None of the Entune functions work outside the lower 48 states, and the rest of the system is marginal in my opinion, compared to third-party alternatives. The Bluetooth function is very buggy. It starts playing several tracks at the same time from the phone, which have to be turned off individually. And with one track running, it plays for about 15 seconds, then goes into fast-forward mode permanently, until you horse around with the "reverse" and "play" functions, which will sometimes make it work right. I use a USB stick for all my recorded material. Even the socket for the USB stick is in a ridiculous place in the console bin, where it could easily get broken by things being dropped in. The nav system is sadly out of date, but you can upgrade to 2-year old data for about $200. The nav screen is worse than anything else you can find on the market. Anything you buy in a second-hand shop for $20 is probably better. Yes, I'd recommend any of the ones you mentioned, or almost anything else for that matter.
I liked a Rosen Car Show I had in a Jeep Wrangler. It was one of the universal Double Din units. It looked oem and very simply to use. I still have the radio as I liked it that much.
