Hey folks, got this great idea from a Land Cruiser forum I participate in. Thanks to Summit Cruisers Jr. over at IH8MUD for this great idea. Here's the rules: Rules: State your vehicle’s year, miles, battery charge, and any mods. Also perform this test on flat ground, record the ambient temperature and elevation to help in comparing other member’s Prii. You should also try to perform this run in opposite directions to help compensate for elevation changes and wind. Be safe and obey all traffic laws. My average was 11.79s in a 2006 Prius with 273,500 miles and battery at the top of the blue bars. I have a hitch installed and an oddysey ATV battery. Edit: forgot to add its 37 degrees out and approx 450ft elevation.
I have a video on my phone I recorded back in the summer of my 2005 doing 0-60 when it had 227, xxx miles it did it in exactly 10 seconds with 6 blue bars. My phone won't let me upload the video sadly the car now has 236,600 miles same battery performance
Yeah, I'm thinking I need to redo my times, 11.7 does seem kinda slow now. There was a little gravel slippage on one run and that stupid yellow "in case you didn't notice your tires are slipping" light blinked at me a few times. That's the technical name for it.
Sorry but I've been having a tough time handling the lack of power in my Prius recently.. I drove a BMW i3 recently and I was quite impressed with it's pickup. 0-60 in 7 seconds.
Hey... we all leave the air-cooled VW Bus in the dust. Once saw a sticker on a rusting one that said: "0-60 in 11 minutes".
School admin staff wouldn't allow such humor on a school bus. Those old VW rust buckets are worth a lot of money now.... some goes as far as $80k in fully restored condition.
Allen Gamble: [Steps on gas pedal] America! Terry Hoitz: [Car crashes into the crime scene] Did you yell 'America' when you hit the accelerator? Allen Gamble: Nope. No, no. I've never actually put my foot all the way down to the ground with the accelerator like that. It got me slightly aroused.
