Hi Y'all, I've been a member for quite a while, piling up the knowledgebase prior to pulling the trigger. I test drove the P4 in November 2014 and I liked the Softex seats and the power seats so that became my target. Tried several dealers but nothing stood out. Went to a BMW dealer to check out a pristine P4. St[D]ealer did not want to budge on his price between Xmas & New Year, so I did not bite. I was really thinking of going out of town to get a better deal and.... Lo and behold, the right time came around, drove 250+ miles to a dealer and acquired a 2013 P5, 18 mths old. Best thing was, it was advertised as a P4! Did some negotiating and got it for a fairly good price since gas prices are low. The P5 has LED lights, 17" wheels, headlight washers and the foglights which gives it a different look. Some say it looks kinda fugly with the twin leds in each headlight housing. Heck, I really don't care. I like the while lights more than the halogens anyway. My MPG to date. Zeroing out trip counter at time of fill-up, recorded miles traveled @ next fill-up, dividing miles driven by gallons pumped for fill-up. Two tankfuls and I have averaged approx 54.7 mpg. Driving was 50/50 city/hwy, nothing aggressive, but at the same time driving conservatively. Doing 65-75 on hwy to work. Btw, reminder, I'm on 17" wheels. I do not know the PSI of the tires, but I know they are not maxed out since the ride is quite compliant. Driving in bumper to bumper traffic is now very, very tolerable. Stress level is way down. Who knows, I may even live longer because I'm driving a Prius. Best car I ever bought. I still have my gofast car when I feel the need to speed, but, for now, I'm just crusin and chillin. It's a real chuckle to watch others speed past only to see them at the next traffic light. I guess it's the hurry up and wait attitude. No need to welcome me, I've been on this site for quite a while. I just wanted to share my acquisition experience and give back a little of what I got from this forum. Now, I have to budget to personalize my P5. Should be fun.

I like my LED headlights -- they needed to be aimed as they came too low from the factory. The headlight washers are tied into the wiper washer -- so you wash your headlight even if you don't want to and they use a lot of fluid. I use an additive in the washer fluid to give it a bit of foaming action -- that way the fluid sticks to the headlights a bit. The reason you need the washers is because the LEDs like HIDs don't have enough heat to melt ice. Not a problem for you. Also no low fluid warning -- I ran out when I first got the car. The fog lights are worthless ... the larger wheels and tires make a differnece.
Hello! Congrats on the new purchase! I absolutely agree with you regarding how people fly by and you're just chillin' behind the wheel. I do the same thing when I used to zoom past people in my other car that is like a "bat mobile" LOL. Now, I just relax in my new Prius. People really do sure fury when they drive past me. They ride my tail and cut me off. Me, I'm like: hahahaha Their expression is usually: I wanted a p5, but wasn't willing to fork over that much for one. I am a college student and asked for the basic model to strictly have backup camera. That was the most important thing to me. However, I can agree that LED's are the absolute best vs. those crap halogen bulbs. Too bad that Prius has halogen bulbs! I have caught up with people who have zoomed right by me, only to find them sitting at the next stop light. Their reactions are priceless! Anyhow, enjoy your new Prius!
