First impression driving from dealership brand new '14 C Two: wow the speakers are really horrible! Then we got home and I ran a few audio tests and when set up properly they sound good enough not to be put into trash right away. On frequency sweep: at the bottom there is no sound coming out until ~28-30Hz, and at the top do not expect much above 16kHz. There is a drop btw lows and mids but they show pretty flat response curve otherwise. On drive match test: there are some issues on specific frequencies, but they are more or less matched. Best settings for linear response with listening volume in 30-40 range: Treble +2, Bass +1 This on green speakers with ~5hr. I expect them to get better after burn in.
thank you,,, i will try the treble +2 , bass+1,, right away. i usually balance my right R1 because my harley mufflers hurt that right side plus i like to be able to hear sirens or horns out the window on my left
Not sure if your One has the same 6 speaker set up as my Two. You may have a 4-speaker. Nevertheless, you can run the tests and determine what is an optimal set up for you. here is a link to tests: The Ultimate Headphones Test The tests useful for set up are "Spectral Flatness", "Driver matching" and low/high "frequency response". "Bass shaker" is useful in identifying loose speakers, but it is not likely to be an issue on new car. If you have some hearing loss, you can use this test to map it out: Online Audiogram Hearing Test | Reliable & Calibrated
awesome and thankz. i will check out those links. yes my c One has only 4 speakers but that is ok. because i still have kids and one in a carseat, it is better that i have no rear speakers. i often pity the poor child prisoner in a carseat trapped next to loud rear speakers in many cars. people just dont realize how too loud it sounds in the rear.
