Newbie question: A few days ago I noticed when I started the car that both the HV/EV and ECO mode lights were illuminated. What does that mean?
ECO can be enabled in either HV or EV mode and it changes pedal mapping. It makes it less sensitive to gain precious control.
Sorry ... I don't quite understand what "less sensitive to gain precious control" means. What's the basic difference between ECO in EV mode and ECO in HV mode? Thanks in advance ...
the difference between ev and hv is electric or hybrid mode. the difference between eco or no eco is that you have to press the pedal further in eco mode, to get the same amount of power. i believe usb meant pressure, and got zapped by spellcheck.
you have the choice of 'eco', 'norma', and 'power' modes. they all affect the sensitivity of the go pedal. they don't actually change anything, just make you press harder for power, which may or may not keep you from over pressing the go pedal and using more gas. they do affect hvac as i mentioned though. i think it's covered in the faq sticky.
Thanks for all that. The dealer told me that ECO meant it would stay electric until about 40mph. Is that right?
