I just bought a used 2006 with 164000. Now all my friends tell me I am crazy because the battery will go out soon. Is that true? I fell in love with this car the minute I pulled out for a test drive. There was no way I wasn't going to buy it.
Welcome, CR video reviews! The 200,000-mile question: How does the Toyota Prius hold up? Toyota Prius, Consumer Reports
Could you have a problem with your battery tomorrow on your 164,000 mile car? Yes. But even if you had to replace the battery, you'll still have an awesome car, which will give you awesome gas mileage, at an awesome price (even with the price of the battery factored in). Enjoy your "new" car!!!
No use worrying now, just put away $200 a month and prepare for whenever it fails. It could be a month, it could be several years
Tell your silly friends to read the 299,999 mile thread on here. They can just Google prius 299,999. They'll be shocked for sure!! Congrats on the new car, Kathy!
Thank you all. I can't wait until I get it. Dealer is getting it detailed for me and delivering. Better be Wednesday!!!
Don't sweat it, enjoy it! No need to worry. Compared to most cars, at that mileage you would be on the end of the transmission/engine/drivetrains life. Prius will have no issues
