Hi all, Im new here. I bought a 2011 Prius Plus 4 months ago and have loved it. Everything was going great until it made a growling noise from the front right engine compartment area two days ago. Yesterday as I drove it to work...it stopped growling and the A/C stopped blowing cool air. The volume of air from the vents is the same, just no A/C. Dealership wants a pretty penny to fix it...suggesting it could be upwards of $3500. Anyone know of someone in the Orlando FL area that could help me.
welcome, how many miles on her? you may want to look for a local mech or a/c shoppe that would be willing to install a salvage unit.

no, but i agree with you, there are some very expensive, albeit unusual, repairs on the prius. i think it's because the a/c is electric.
