I just had my inverter coolant hoses replaced this last week, and my reservoir is empty. From what I can gather by looking at my engine, the mechanic put the extra coolant in the engine coolant reservoir. I am currently not close to home (about a 40 minute, primarily freeway drive) and no shops are open or available to service it. Is there anything I can do to get myself home without seriously damaging my car? I have heard of putting distilled water in the coolant, but I'm worried that's not enough or will cause more problems. Thank you all for any help!
I'm not an expert, but I would think that water would be good enough to get you home, or at least to a store that has engine coolant.
