Well hi it's just me ZZRGUY. I don't own a Prius as of yet but I'm here to ask some question. A little about me I'm a father, a husdan, I work in the public sector, drive on the LIE, and take long road trips regularly, I'm a competitive shooter, and a conservative. But I'm really sick of paying high gas prices.
You will pay the same prices with a Prius, just less often. A great many here are to the right of me (OK everyone here is to the right of me) feel free to want to protect America from foreign blackmail, to improve our balance of trade, or not fund terrorism. That will balance out my feeling that petroleum is too useful just to burn it, my worry over oil spills, and my wishing not to add to climate change.
I am thinking LIE drivers get the free HOV priviledges with hybrids/plug-ins over 45 MPG?...also some decent EasyPass bridge crossing discounts with hybrids over 45 MPG. So that means be careful but any Prius Liftback or c or Plug-In should do the trick. Prius v (wagon) and Camry Hybrid may or may not fall below the 45 MPG line you may want to "shoot" for. PS- Lots of past threads on the bridge discounts...it's quite confusing as there are various NY/NJ authorities for EasyPass (Thruway, Port Authority, etc) but if you look at past threads you will get some hints how manage this.
Welcome! Have you researched any other vehicles besides a Prius? Any comparisons? Preferences? What features are important to you?
Welcome to the group. Some of the things that convinced me to buy a Prius, besides the great mileage, are the large interior space, ability to use the A/C while parked, and it's use as an emergency generator.
No not a hummer but a Tundra 4.7 and that about what I get in MPG. Never know about the generator. I look at the Ford and the price is to high the Hondas I'm looking into but the nearest Honda dealer to me is 45 to 1 hour away. was shock to see that the V was not HOV pass that was the car I really like size wise. The C is to small.
