The car sees the key and let's me put it into acc mode and on but won't go into run mode. It is seemingly not recognizing the press of the brake. Would the brake lights come on if I press the pedal when it is in on mode? Because they don't but I think they should. Honestly can't remember.
The brake lights should come on regardless of ignition mode, including Off. Is the brake light switch still working?
It sounds like the brake switch behind the brake pedal is either out of adjustment, or defective. You can try pressing the brake pedal down several times etc. However, some people have intermittent problems making the car Ready from this problem with the brake switch.
Another thing that I don't think I noticed before when pressing the on button the first time is that a large triangle with exclamation mark comes up underneath the traction control button. Is that normal?
The brake lights should come on whenever the brake pedal is depressed, regardless of what mode the car is in, including OFF. Check that first. If the brake lights don't come on, the brake switch behind the pedal is suspect, as mentioned. If the brake switch is faulty, that "may" be giving you the triangle light.
Well, I took the time to check the fuses. It seems that the #14 fuse is blown which is the brake lights. I didn't have any of the micro fuses and I pulled one to test 14 which caused another problem. The dash won't come on, or the main display except for the check engine light and another light which I forget. I purchased some fuses so when I get back home I'll replace the 14.
I put the fuse back in the wrong place causing the display to go out. I was working to get a wire through the fire wall for foglights and I kept touching the brake pedal and I guess that blew the fuse.
First of all, thanks for all your help! I've got one more problem needing to be resolved. Traction control light, ABS light, and this symbol ((!)) Along with low pressure light are all on. Low pressure I can handle, but what about these others? They were not on before.
How old is your 12v auxiliary battery? Sounds like it's low, that's when all kinds of warning lights come on.
prob as old as the car. Would the brake fuse blowing cause the abs light to come on? I took it for a drive last night and the brake regeneration wasn't coming on to recharge the battery, does the ABS light have anything to do with that?
Can anyone confirm that the fuse blowing and me unplugging the brake light sensor caused these lights to come on?
It hasn't worked yet. And I've read the gen II is only reset by the dealer. And not much is posted about it here for the Gen III
