2007 Passenger Mirror Cover

    Hey All!

    First time poster, long time lurker. My wife has a Silver Pine Micacolor 2007 prius. During this hash winter in Boston her passenger rear view mirror got knocked off. We scored a replacement at our local body shop, and everything was well.
    A week ago we took the car through the car wash (third or fourth time since the new side view). The outside covering of the mirror seems to have popped off (similar to http://priuschat.com/attachments/im001080-jpg.26228/). Im guessing this is because the body shop salvaged the covering from the old smashed mirror we had.

    From all the posts I’ve seen here, it’s a a fairly easy fix and just requires me to smoosh the new plate onto the mirror. I did some research and the closest item # I can find is 8791568010G3, but this looks like it’s a whole mirror assembly. Can someone verify?

    TLDR: Our side view mirror on the passenger side is missing the cover and looks similar to http://priuschat.com/attachments/im001080-jpg.26228/. I need to buy a replacement cover in Silver Pine Mica and keep the wife happy.

    You can get the color matched cover at the dealer. Just pop it on when you get it, the clips on the cover hold it in place

    Whats the part to get? Everything ive seen seems to be the entire assembly

    To be clear: did the outside cover pop off and is lost forever?

    My first thought was that perhaps there would be a way to glue the cover on from the inside. A thick bead of construction glue or something. It's not the most elegant solution but since it'll be on the inside no one would see it.

    Yup! Popped off about a week ago at the car wash (we're guessing)
