welcome! me neither. maybe brakes if it's a 2010. but that can happen anytime. probably not in fl though. battery might be a little susceptible to the heat, but that's not usual either. i suppose the standard car stuff like shocks and struts, normal wear items. sometimes wheel bearings, etc.
I have a 2011 Prius Two, not II because it is not a 2010 and 2010 used uppercase roman numerals for model designation, with 120,000 miles and have only put on two sets of tires .................... So Happy Motoring !This is my second Prius first was an 08 treaded it in with 112,000 miles on it with no problems just wanted a new one and may trade in my 2011 on the up coming 2016 model
well at 100k miles your non-CARB warranty is over in FL. So you could get a bad hybrid battery at some point. But that seems to be a age+miles correlation, so we have had very few 2010 HV batt failures reported as yet. As these Gen3 get to 8-10 yrs old we might start to see some Gen3 batt failures, like we are seeing many more Gen2 batt failures now.
knocking due to clogged ERG, oil consumption due to clogged PCV, and overheated HV battery due to dirty cooling fan come to mind. greasing of brake pins and replacement of ATF is long overdue if not done previously. good time to think about coolant and spark plugs replacement, too.
Thanks everyone! The battery seems to be hanging in there fairly well. According to the charge bars, it looks like it still charges about 80%. The local Toyota dealer does the oil changes and told me that the brakes will probably need to be done on the next oil change. Spark plugs, coolant, automatic transmission fluid, wheel bearings, oil consumption, clogged ERG, clogged PCV. Got it. I want to keep this car going for a long time yet. Currently putting over 3K miles a month on it. So great to find a PRIUS forum!
