Chirping engine noise

    There is a chirping sound coming from the engine of my 2010 Prius. It sounds like a really fast bird chirping and my guess is its probably the serpentine belt. It is there as soon as I start car and the engine is running. 80k miles.

    Anyone changed belts before on a 3rd gen? Appreciate your input.

    There's no belt in the 3rd gen. Try turning off your AC and see if the sound is still there

    There are no belts on a third Gen. The water pump is electric. There is a pulley on the crankshaft, but no serpentine belt.

    Water pump? Have you checked for coolant leaks?

    AC is off and its still there. Bird chirping lol.

    No leaks checked under the car, all fluids full.

    Wth could this sound be if there's no belts? Lol...

    Has this car been in an accident? Is the chirp similar to the reminder chirps the car makes? Like you walk away from your car while it's still on and the fob is in your pocket?

    No accidents. It sounds like the chirp sound in the beginning of this YouTube video.
