Good afternoon, my stepdad hit his 2015 prius and I need to replace the fender. Would like to ask if anyone knows how to remove those plastic clips that hold the side skirt on and also if the vent glass needs to come off to access the 2 bolts underneath. Hopefully the fender just need to slide forward. Thanks in advance for any help.
Since this is a brand new 2015, wouldn't it worthwhile to fix it properly? You'll have at least 10 more years of happiness with it. That's why you bought insurance right?
How much is the used painted fender from the junkyard? How much does the body shop want to replace? Ask for quotes using new & used parts.
Might never be done, is the problem. I see the OP's future includes learning how to do lots of Prius body sheet metal repair or replacements...unless his stepdad's driver's license is revoked or insurance is cancelled, first. OP can find body repair manual info at techinfo.toyota.com if he needs help figuring out how to remove the fender.
When mine was replaced (pax side) they removed the vent window. Funny thing cause I was thinking about doing it myself (car was in bodyshop for rear end repair), and on cars i've owned in the past, it's been like 10 screws and the fender is off. I'd hate to have to hire a glass guy to do the tiny window all for a fender :/
