Today I noticed that the phone speed dial and history dial features on my navigation system are greyed out and cannot be used while driving. They work while I am stopped, but grey out when the car starts moving. I have owned this car for 5 years and have never had this problem. Has anyone else seen this problem?
Are you sure this didn't happen before? Safety protocols lock out most phone features while the car is in motion.
Well... I just figured it out. I somehow deleted my phone which deleted my contacts and history. I re added my phone but didn't realize that if you don't have history or speed dials, these buttons will react like buttons which are not allowed to function when driving. That is, they will grey out when you are driving and allow you to use them when stopped. As soon as I got a call, the history button started to act normally and when I added speed dials I could use them when driving too. Problem solved!
