I bought my '15 Prius Persona today! Love it....anyhow my dealer told me that they were at a Toyota conference and this was the picture they kept seeing on what will be the '16 Prius. I don't believe this will be it according to everything I've read online so far. iPhone ?
Whatever it may be, I kinda' like it. The rear-end is still high but at least from the side profile, it's more attractive than Gen III to me. It is certainly in keeping with a sportier look.
I frickin love it. Compared to the nasty Toyota civic mule pics floating around all week this thing is a homerun in looks anyways. It looks like a Bugatti Prius. Badass. As with all concept or concept looking drawings (hopefully this is real) it has the requisite monster sized rims...Lol.
I found out it was taken from an old article years ago., but the dealer still claims this is what they think it might look like. Judging on the latest "mule" pics in not so sure. iPhone ?
The salesman went to a Toyota conference recently and "according to him" all the top people at this conference kept referring to this picture. iPhone ?
Looks like a sporty hatch from a cartoon... Better than some of the other pictures I've seen (they look like shit!) But I really don't think this is it. Why I don't think this is the up coming Prius is the very in Prius like proportions, for example; the very low hood, honestly not sure if HSD could fit under that
Last years concept Prius was bad nice person as is this pic, both of which prob won't ever get made unfortunately it seems The recent mule pics are disgusting, I agree..
Yes this picture has been around for a couple of years now, and it has been tagged as concept. Strangely enough it overlaps well with latest spy pics; low hood, bubble forward, rear. Obviously 22" rims are not for production, and some of the aggressive lines will be toned down, but if you compare say Aqua concept and production, these may not be that far apart.
-I'm- hoping the expiration of Cobasil's patent on NiMH technology means we might get some advances in operation due to a larger capacity NiMH battery. While the -current- HSD may not benefit from a larger capacity battery, I'm betting with different programing etc. we could see a benefit. Or just go to lithium technology, which seems to be ready for the real world.
could be, that under all the camouflage, there is something much different. so who knows, it could be similar to the pic above.
We saw OPs rendition November 2012. Radical New Toyota Prius in the Pipeline - Motor Trend All Pages "A: The design will change significantly, the most radical of which will be the lowering of the hood and waistline. The hood height will drop in height by at least 90 mm [3.5 inches] and it will lose its characteristic wedge shape. The A-pillar will retreat backwards while the roof line will be pushed forward by around 500 mm [19.5 inches] with two aims: 1) to improve aerodynamics and 2) to improve the overall look.... Q: Will the drivetrain stay the same? A: Good question. Actually, the next Prius will be the first model to get 4WD. The rear wheels will be driven by a motor in what we call an e-4WD system. Targeting snowy areas, the rears will operate up to 37 mph. Above that speed, it becomes a purely front-wheel drive car."
