I'm in the process of trying to repair my HV battery and figured while I've got the back torn out, I'd look into replacing the tail light. One of them has the LED short that causes the brake light to be dim and not light up sometimes. Anyway, does anybody have experience with the non-OEM ones that are sold on eBay for about half the cost of OEM? If so, how long have you had them installed and any issues with the LEDs or anything? I was considering changing the pair since I have a 2005 and figure the other side could end up going out at any moment and I'd have to take apart the back again. Any advice or tips would be appreciated! Thanks,
Another option other than eBay is RockAuto RockAuto Parts Catalog has after-market (non-OEM) brands that are CAPA certified. or Parts Train Online Automotive Truck and Car Parts Accessories at PartsTrain.com . I haven't needed to replace headlights or tail lights, but when I do I will buy aftermarket ones. I know that TYC is a good brand. Maybe PM @Justdidit. He replaced his tail lights not to long ago, but don't know if he bought new OEM or aftermarket. Hope that helps!
