Adding a data point for reference; A few weeks ago my 2007 (pkg. 3, CA car) with 94,xxx miles unexpectedly illuminated the VSC, Red Triangle, (!), and car symbol with ! on the MFD. After power cycle the car would not enter "Ready" mode. Since it was bad timing (11:30pm and I was far from home with passengers in tow) I disconnected/reconnected the 12V battery to clear codes and safely returned home. After another two days of normal driving the error occurred again and I drove the car directly to my local dealership. The dealership pulled P0AA6 code and ultimately determined the cause to be Transaxle failure. The Transaxle was replaced under TSB-0306-08 and covered by warranty. Hooray! The only peculiar thing to mention is that the dealership needed extra time to diagnose the issue. The dealership reproduced the fault multiple times in order to diagnose where the HV fault was occurring and consulted regional Toyota office before proceeding with the warranty repair. I think it's exceptional that Toyota stands behind these types of issues, even for vehicles approaching high-mileage, and extends full warranty coverage. Kudos to Toyota. edit: I should add that I had Transaxle fluid changed twice; at ~15K miles and again at ~60K miles.
