Hello everbody new to the prius world! I recently purchased a 06 prius with 185k. Gas engine needed to be replaced so I recently replaced it. Had code of engine failed to start. Now got replacement engine in and has p0300 and p0303 and p0304. Weird thing is new plugs. Swapped coils and injectors with same results. To me it sounds like a racket in the the transmission. The noise is not consistent at all. Very loud and odd. Also inside the carwhen I put it in drive or neutral a warning light comes up and says shift to park batteries wont charge while in neutral. Thanks for any help. Ill post a video shortly that I have.
The transaxle starts the gas engine. How did the coupler (clutch like device between engine and transaxle) look? when you attempt to start the gas engine are you seeing any serpentine belt movement?
That piece looked fine. It came with the engine I bought looked fine all around. Unsure on serpentine movement. If somebody can text me I have video I wanna share but I cant get it to upload. Its really weird because when I first turn it on the transaxle make a funny noise. I let it cycle threw the first startu up. When gasengine turns off I can than push on the accelerator to get engine going and engine sounds fine. Confussing I know. 6052806390.
if that's a cold battery, sounds okay, but a little low. probably doesn't have anything to do with misfiring, but maybe the mfd message.
Yesmultiple misfire is p0300 and the other is 3 and 4 cylinders. Doesnt seem like a misfire. Sound comes from tranny area
'shift to park'. you might have a short in one of the motor generator windings, but that should have it's own code.
I swapped gas engine out. Drove it for maybe twohours had it sittin in my driveway running. As soon as it turned on to I believe charge the battery the noise started bad
You will get more help from members with Gen II Prius knowledge if you post in the Gen II forum. This forum is for the Prius v (wagon) threads, but you always get help here on Priuschat.
easiest thing to do is report your own post and ask a mod to move the thread, rather than starting over.
