Hi there, My wife and I are ready to bite the bullet and go for a PiP. My commute to work is 4-5 miles each way, and my current vehicle ('06 Escalade) obviously gets horrendous MPG for that journey. I took our vehicle to carmax today for the trade in estimate (15k) and was very happy. The problem is that there is only ONE PiP Advanced (2012, 12k miles) in OR and they are asking a premium on it (around 25k). There are two others, but they have gone beyond their original warranty period. I'm in Texas, so the chances of finding a PiP locally are slim to none. Any ideas on where to look? The Toyota CPO site requires a zip code (250 mile max). The quest: find a CPO PiP Advanced or a newer PiP still within the original warrranty period. Thanks, Ashley
Hi Ashley, the warranty is 36,000 miles or 3 years whichever comes first. I realize you are in Texas, but I would check Calfornia. Check carmax.com
have you weighed the cost of trading vehicles? the pip is not likely to save you money on your commute.
Ive got a PIP Advance with 23000 miles and 8 year 100000 platinum bumper to bumper Toyota warranty, pearl white if interested
I have a 2012 PIP listed for sale in the Prius Chat "For Sale " (link included ) section. Winter Gray color. I will provide you with an special price and free shipping to TEXAS if we will arrange the sale.
If the cars available from the members of the chatroom aren't suitable truecar lists quite a number in Langhorne, PA & Lawrenceville, NJ (Google the zip codes) that are most likely coming off lease.
Thanks for the tips everyone. My wife has her eyes set on the one Carmax has at the moment, so we'll see what happens. @mrbigh and @ppimd I will be in touch if either of your vehicles gets the nod by my wife!
Interesting, are you the one who bought the White Advanced model from California? It think it was like $20k. I have been seeing a lot of advanced models coming down in price. I have seen a ton of regular PiP in the $15 to $16 range. Prices will likely to continue to go lower if the Saudies continue to pump oil and flood the market which works in your best interest when looking for a Prius. iPhone ?
