Hi all, I just got a 2007 prius and today opened the trunk and saw this cut red cable coming from the positive terminal on the 12v battery.. Does anyone know what it is?? Is it safe to remove it? Leave it there? Please help. Thank you
Does your car have a trailer hitch, the fused wire you show that has been cut looks like the wire from my trailer wiring kit. Maybe previous owner had some after market accessory hooked there.
Looks like it might have had subs at one point. If there's no fuse in the black part, it should be fine to just leave it there.
Could not help but notice, your picture shows you are missing a couple of parts back there also. The red plastic cover over the positive terminal and the plastic duct work for the traction battery vent. I also note that the vent tube for the 12 volt battery is missing.
