Continual Fan Noise when car is off

    Hello,

    Have a 2012 prius v 3 and randomly when the car is shut off I notice a fan of some sort that appears to be running and the noise appears to be coming from the rear of the car. This doesn't happen right after the car is shut off. If the car is off and come back to it 2 hours later you hear the fan going. In order to rectify, what I do is turn the car on (not accessory mode), and shut back off. The fan stops.

    Anyone know what this is and why it is occurring?

    I would guess your traction-battery might be getting a bit hot (A Bad Thing!), and the system is trying to cool it down a bit! Keeping the vents clean and clear is A Good Thing!

    it's a eval check. nothing to worry about, but can be disconcerting the first time you hear it.

    What is an eval check? It seems like it doesn't stop. Does it?
