so I was heading off the freeway to take my exit at night Didn't see there was a little curb island between the main freeway and exit Went with the car over the curb and my right passenger tire went out. I changed the tire and driven off, then noticed the car sound got much louder all of a sudden and when I turn the steering wheel right or left, I hear or feel a heavy sharp sensation- yet the car turns fine, it just sounds louder when I press the gas and when I turn the steering wheel I can feel my feet vibrating a bit and a soft/sharp squeak sound comes out. Please advise?? What could this be? Thank you
Do you mean you installed the temporary spare tire, or purchased and installed a new full sized tire? The temporary spare can be really loud and rough, especially when properly inflated to 60 psi.
I noticed that sound after the spare is on. The steering wheel turning right or left sounds buzzy and harsh
I just went and got a new tire, switched it out with the spare and now when I turn the steering wheel I don't hear that sound as much anymore. Good sign?
If you hear any unusual sounds or notice any abnormal vehicle handling symptoms, the car needs to be inspected for suspension and/or engine exhaust system damage.
I did something similar and lost a tire too. At a minimum, you should have your alignment checked out.
