I'm not sure what the technical term is for the part I'm wondering about, maybe seals, strips? But the black piece outside of all 4 of my windows is flapping in the breeze. I can't get a photo right now, as the car is not with me. Dealer wanted $373 to do all 4, which is just crazy. I'm not paying that. There has to be a how-to somewhere. I also need to figure out the part number , dealer wouldn't tell me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The dealer is not suppose to withhold the part number that you need. You should try another dealer. You can also find a friendly body shop to address the concerns (possibly fix), most likely will be cheaper
I have a similar problem with the black rubber outlining the sun roof. I have a 2010 Prius and last year the strip of rubber at the rear of the moon roof came loose and as you put it, was flapping in the breeze. Just noticed that the passenger side has come loose as well. I contacted the dealer about the first problem I had and was informed that the rubber was an intregral part of the roof and the whole roof had to be replaced to the tune of $1,500. I'm having a difficult time believing that statement but so far haven't followed up on it because no leaks. Is anyone else having problems with the rubber stripping?
This is the passenger Window. But they are all like this. Yes. This is my next step. If it's an easy fix, I can do it the same day I do my bumper clips. This car, I swear. It's body parts suck. We never had issues with the 2007s we had.
Just out of curiosity, so you asked the Dealership for the part number and they directly refused to tell you? Most dealerships have a "Parts" department that works in conjunction with the service/repair department. I bet if you just went to the parts counter and described what you were looking for they could look it up and order it for you. Seems kind of strong armed sleazy for the service department to try to refuse to help you potentially fix it yourself.
I asked the parts dept. First he told me they didn't have the part, and then he said "oh, you're the one who canceled the part" Because that's what I took it in for today, but it was too expensive to get done. I haven't budgeted for that, after last week's battery fiasco. After that, he turned to the next person. Im not in the mood to be pushy. This isn't the first time the Parts dept has done this to me. Send in my hubby, he'll get it right away. My service manager, also didn't know the part number off the top of his head.

If we are on the same page, the belt molding on the doors is the trim "a lot" of people have issues with. The doors should be an easy undertaking, the sunroof seal I will leave for someone specifically knowledgeable. Did my 2006 Beetle, but that's a different monster.
