Starting on p 753 of the manual are all the settings you supposedly can change from the Entune settings. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change the backup beep from intermittent to once or off. I figured out the door lock and unlock stuff but I really want to change this. Can anyone help?
More accurately, something like miniVCI, the Techstream knockoff, that can modify some of the car parameters. Or just go back to the sales manager and/or service manager and insist it be turned to the single beep. Bob Wilson
I went to my dealer, Autonation Irvine, and had the service department change the backup beep to one beep only. It was done in 30 minutes while waiting. They have actually done this to all my Priuses. No charge any of the times.
so, I was able to use an OBD scanner to program, but I wasn't able to use it right away. I tried Tera Term, but received errors during a write process. So, I browsed the CD that came with the scanner and I had to run a program called "scanmaster", enter a code and then I was able to quit scan master and fire up the terminal and was now able to write. There must be something on the OBD port/CPU that is "unlocked" somehow. This is from a fried "before I tried with the bluetooth one (some level of success.. I was able issue read commands), I had connected with droid Turbo app so that may had unlocked mine.. or maybe it was already unlocked when we bought the car used..."
I'm not interested in using a scanner, just settiing the things in the manual that supposedly can be set.
can you quote us the manual? i'm sorry, i saw your 2007, then you said entune. but i didn't realize we were in the gen 4 section.
If you read the manual carefully, it indicates that the reverse beep is not able to be set by the user - you must go to the dealer (or obtain a scan-tool, as others have advised).
