To kick off the work for Gen IV Prius, I am starting this thread. To start off, someone need to test to see if Gen III PIDs work with Gen IV (2016) Prius.
Some work, others don't. http://prius-pt.com/cafe/resized-image.ashx/__size/600x0/__key/CommunityServer.Discussions.Components.Files/196/6283.Screenshot_5F00_2016_2D00_03_2D00_12_2D00_21_2D00_52_2D00_05.png (Filipe Ramos credits)
Hi there, I am a recent owner of a 4th Gen Prius (Portugal/Europe). I was used to using the OBD metrics in the previous 3rd Gen Prius. Now, using the OBDLink with the new 4th Gen Prius togheter with the 'Torque Pro' and the PIDs for 3rd Gen Prius got the following, presented for the metrics used more regularly. SUCCESSFULY: +B Voltage Value(V) CO₂ in g/km (Instantaneous)(g/km) Engine Load(%) Engine RPM(rpm) Fuel Remaining (Calculated from vehicle profile)(%) Fuel used (trip)(l) Horsepower (At the wheels)(hp) Litres Per 100 Kilometer(Instant)(l/100km) Speed (GPS)(km/h) Speed (OBD)(km/h) Throttle Position(Manifold)(%) Trip average Litres/100 KM(l/100km) Trip distance (stored in vehicle profile)(km) Trip Time(Since journey start)(s) Trip time(whilst moving)(s) Trip time(whilst stationary)(s) NO DATA RECEIVED: Auxiliary Battery Voltage(V) Batt Pack Current Val(Amperes) Coolant temperature(°C) Difference between maximum & minimum voltage(V) MG1 revolution(RPM) MG2 revolution(RPM) State of Charge(%) Best wishes and I hope you find the correct PID's, at least for those marked with "NO DATA RECEIVED"
Filipe. I brought here your recent pic with the 4 gen to feed this thread Is there a way to run a "sniffer" to find valid adresses? The equations could be similar to previous models... (?)
I hope so. I wonder if 'usbseawolf2000' knows how to do it. Meanwhile I will try something this easter.
I (my mother, I want a used Volt) just got a '16 Prius. Willing to help but don't have training in this area. Working on CS major so it sounds like fun. I have a KW902/ELM327 OBD2 2 bluetooth device and Apple smart device.
I don't know if can be useful, but a French Prius owner sniffed the following: - ECU works in 7D2 for enquires and 7DA for answers - So, no multiframes answers (7E0 - 7E7) - Enquires in 3 or 4 octets (no 2 octets) - Answers till 260 octets in a new (from previous) format - Tons of data potentially recoverable, the guy stopped at 10,000 characters... Here the post on Prius Touring Forum (French): http://prius-touring-club.com/vbf/showpost.php?p=299252&postcount=10
I've made a Scan using Torque Pro on my 4 Gen Prius (european model) for Header 7D2 and ALL the answers for mode 21 get the same response: "7DA037F211100000000" The only Headers I got several active responses are: 7C0 7C4 7D0
bump... I'm also really in need of these codes to read the steering angle. I keep getting the "7DA037F211100000000" response as well.
Wouldn't it help someone write an email to Scangauge to see if their latest version includes ZWV50 Prius?
Hi fr-pt and abramsbrian, From the 7F negative response code, 11 means "Mode not supported". It means mode 21 is not supported by this ECU. From Scangauge website, it seems Toyota is using mode 22; i.e. 2 bytes PID instead of the 1 byte offset in mode 21. e.g. 227A76, 227A53, 221093, 221089, 2210AB, etc. 7D2 is the HV CPU as mentioned in post #9 and 747 is the Bty ECU from Scangauge website. Below are my direct translation from Scangauge website: Name ShortName ModeAndPID Equation Min Value Max Value Units Header 1 Hybrid Battery SOC SOC 227A76 A*20/51 0 100 % 747 2 Hybrid Battery Voltage HBV 227A53 C*4 ? ? You probably should start a new thread for the Prime. Some values could be the same a Gen 4, but the Prime is a little more advanced Some call it Gen 4.5.
I think the thread you want is Gen IV Prius Prime Custom PIDs for Torque app | PriusChat Most will likely apply to Gen 4 too.
