I've noticed vents under the front seats, on the floor, facing the rear passengers. Are these air vents? If so, I'm not feeling any air coming out of them. Should I be? I'd love to be able to better send cool air to the back, as my daughter rides in her rear-facing car seat and always gets hot, unless I freeze myself and my wife in the front seats. FYI, I'm not referring to the vent that cools the battery. I know that's under the rear right seat, as I read that in the manual and noted its location in my car. Thanks!
Yes, I have. I haven't seen mention of rear cooling/heating in the manual, yet at least. When I set it to feet & upper I might feel a little something coming out, but not much at all, even with the fan speed up.
Bummer, heat only?! I have yet to ever use heat in our cars here in South FLA. Why wouldn't Toyota add rear vents for air? I wish this was standard on all cars. Even before having my daughter, I wanted it for the dogs.
So put the air on, recirc on, and the vents to your feet and see if that doesn't help. A/C is not the most effective on any wagon or van unless you count the mini-vans with dual A/C. Too many cubic feet to cool. Presume you have tinted windows.
The car came tinted, with something called DigiFilm. Honestly, it looks considerably lighter and lower quality than what I put on our previous car: higher end product from Tint World. I'm considering taking it into Tint World for a quote on a better tint. That'll help somewhat but I wish there was better airflow in the back of the car.
when i have people in back, i put mine on upper flow and point the middle vents inward and high, and the outer vents outward and high, so we don't feel it in front.
Leave my bypass button "on" all the time but it might come in handy if cold outside and passengers in the rear seat need their feet warm. Can't see AC on the floor as good as the upper vents wide open.
