Hi All, It's been a couple years since we sold our 2013 Prius Five (liftback), without the advanced tech package and now that we had our first child, looking for a bit more space and considering purchasing a 2013 Prius v - Five with ATP. One of the things that really bugged me when I owned the standard 2013 liftback was the fact that we didn't take the ATP option. Not going to make that mistake again this second time around. Details: 2013 Prius v - Five Advanced Technology Package 19,xxx miles Asking price $21k Toyota CPO Do you think there's any further room to negotiate? Clearbook has it in the $18.6k range for private party with all the options listed above. Thanks in advance!
Thanks Bisco, that was my target price but dealer won't budge. On a positive note, it is undergoing the CPO process, so I'll have the additional warranty/peace of mind from that. iPhone ?
v gets lower mpg than lift back.if the dealer won't budge, and that's the best deal out there, go for it. we want you back!
The v is larger in cross section and is quite a bit less aerodynamic, so it will spend more energy moving air. The v is heavier than the liftback, so will spend more energy when accelerating. (some minor fraction of this can be recovered when decelerating) The v has lower (higher numerically) gearing than the liftback, so both the engine and the motors are often spinning faster. The wheels are a larger diameter, and the tires are wider, so they will have more rotational inertia, more friction with the road, and will be less aerodynamic than the stock wheels/tires on the liftback. (you can buy wide, heavy, sticky tires/wheels for the liftback, and your mileage will drop as well) Compared to my Gen 2, I only lost 7 MPG, but his Gen 3 gets better MPG than a Gen 2.
Just a quick update.. Decided to pass on the vehicle mentioned above. Had more wear and tear than we expected for 19k miles and the dealer wouldn't budge on the $21k asking price (no haggle pricing). Thanks for all the input! Keeping me eyes open for the next deal!
I bought my Prius c Four with 26,300 miles on her with a clean car fax, one owner. I have loved driving her for four weeks now....I paid $15,400 with an internet discount of $500.00.....I found out the car had been miss advertised as a Prius c Two but the dealer let me have the car at the Two price.......love the moonroof
