Hey whats up people. Conducting a poll for my statistics project so throwing this out there. Anybody willing to answer my poll? Sorry that I'm excluding the option to purchase an EV or other alternative fuel vehicle, I need to keep the choices to a minimum for this project. Thanks! Edit: Really messed up the choices now, won't let me edit the choices now. Do you own a diesel? should be for the diesel owners but not sure how to fix it.
woops, it was originally a link to my survey which has the diesel question but i can't post links because im new
Greetings new person. My vote reflects that the 2001 Prius will be the last 'fossil-based' car I ever buy. Better transportation options for me now. You can't base anything on a 'low-N' poll. Suggest you expand your question to other car-centered internet discussion groups. The real basis for 'next' might be like Petrol car and mpg is not the most important factor Petrol car and mpg is the most important factor Diesel car Hybrid car Electric car Other transportation
Why is more than one choice allowed? It seems like there's only one answer to the question, based on the answers that you gave. Also, it seems odd to have answer 2 and 4 without an EV or PHEV option as it can be easily misinterpreted .
yeah i selected that as an accident thinking i could conduct a second poll for the diesel. huge mistake and made me consider closing the poll and just starting a new thread as it won't allow me to change it back to one. something about not being able to reduce the amount of choices.
You ask: "No, I own a diesel." But I want to respond "YES!!, I own a diesel." So I can't fill in the rest of the survey correctly. I have a DIESEL, I'm in buying mode, and will most likely own a HYBRID in the near future. Incidentally, if you're wondering why I'm not replacing my Diesel with another diesel, Diesels were great, very reliable in years past, but in recent years - I guess starting 25-30 yrs ago, Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) started being fitted, but not really in any quantity till about 5-10 yrs ago. My current car (2011) hasn't got one, nor did my previous 2008 car, but almost all do now. Unfortunately, DPFs have a reputation for costing owners dearly if they misbehave, either by a change of driving pattern - ie they don't like stop-start motoring, a bad batch of fuel or just because they decided to. Under those circumstances, plus the fact there is a cloud now over emissions for Diesels which could affect resale in the future, I've decided not to go Diesel again.
i say, give this a few more days, read through the advice of the savvy members here, then close the poll and create a new one. all the best!
Agree, too low "n" and caution in sampling our statistically very biased cohort in the world of vehicle owners. It's going to be difficult to find a general vehicle forum representing a large population as many like this cater to specific interests. Random sampling is best, but expensive and time consuming. Good luck!
Hmm, yeah I see that once people start voting, you can't reduce the number of votes. Your best bet is to restart. I could reset the polls but then everyone here will have to vote again.
<GROAN>It is a fine poll. Use it as lessons learned and design another in the future. Doug is right, I probably could have gone EV but the i3-REx is real and works while the L2 network builds out. Bob Wilson
