Article > Build Your Own Tesla Model 3 With This Unofficial Configurator For the more than 400,000 customers that plunked down $1,000 to reserve a Model 3 electric sedan, it probably comes as a surprise that Tesla hasn't launched its own website that lets buyers visualize and customize their future EV. One intrepid web designer sought to fill this void by building a Tesla Model 3 configurator of his own. The configurator shows a Model 3 on a road overlooking the San Francisco Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. The tool allows you to see the car in nine different colors, including solid black, matte black, titanium metallic, midnight silver metallic, deep blue metallic, silver metallic, pearl white, red multi-coat, and signature red. All except matte black are colors available on the Model S. The 20-inch Turbine wheels can be viewed in two finishes: silver and gray. When you try to configure your interior, however, you get a picture of the Millenium Falcon's cockpit and the words "Check back again soon" So why do this? On the "info" section of the page, it says the configurator was created for fun by an eager Model 3 reservation holder. There's also a Paypal button where you can donate toward thedevelopment of the site as well as the creator's future purchase of a Model 3. Configurator > model3config
Totally not a surprise to a Tesla ho like myself. The waits are long, but patience has thus far been rewarded handsomely.
