Illinois Bill Would Levy $5,000 Fine For Drivers “Rolling Coal” Illinois Bill Would Levy $5,000 Fine For Drivers “Rolling Coal” - Gas 2 Rep. Will Guzzardi from the Illinois General Assembly has introduced a bill that would fine anybody caught rolling coal the Prairie State $5,000, reports AutoGuide. Guzzardi, a Democrat, wants to strengthen the wording of an already-existing EPA law against tampering with emissions equipment. While the EPA says it has already fined companiesselling devices that defeat emissions control systems, it is a fairly simple matter to flash an ECU to deliver the kind of sooty nonsense some diesel truck drivers enjoy.
We live in interesting, and kinda heart-breaking times. Some cars super clean, side-by-side with stinkers. Personally, we've got pretty much ZERO garbage now, it's almost all compostable or recycled. My wife's brother lives in a building offering recycling, but it's pitfully inadequate for the number of occupants. So he just slams everything in the garbage. Everything. Go through a mall food court, "convenience" eating comes with tremendous eco cost: the garbage is a sad olio of food waste, plastic, paper. Then there's Starbucks, with their in-house disposable cups.
Pulled up behind someone at the gas station today, got the card thing done, started filling, noticed the guy ahead had a nice Lexus, and then this: Couldn't resist a picture, guess the repellent wasn't working, lol. On the other side he had another logo, something about promoting global warming. All in good fun.
The thing that aggravates me about "Rolling Coal" is, When they do it in town, you practically have a black out and can't see until you get through it.....
