Can somebody tell me how to get into the diagnostic menu for the
05 Prius? I'd like to see the error code.

    Thanks!

unfortunately you need the scan tool to pull the codes. :(

Is there a way to know what's coming? I really hate surprises.
Like any error messages from the computer to display on the MFD?

You can do it on the MFD with the CAN-View but this is an add on.

i hate to give ya bad news, but the car itself can't tell you without some kind of interpreter like the scantool or the canview that henry mentioned. are you in contact with your dealer about this? they should give you the codes if you ask. they have no reason not to.

When I asked for the code, the adviser said sure, will call you back when I get the
code from the tech person(mechanic?). So far, I have been told that the transaxel
    is leaking.

I was hoping it's hidden in the Easter Eggs Menu.

By the way, how do I get into the Easter Eggs Menu on the 05 Pruis?

    Thanks!
