So I need some help from someone that is familiar with cars or a 2008 Prius Hybrid to be more specific. I've recently talked to a dealer and he's potentially offering me to buy a 2008 Prius for $3,650. It has a clean title, 181,000 miles, and it's in pretty good external condition. He mentioned that the Prius has a "Bad battery" signal on it and it may need to be replaced. Is this a good deal? I mean, I don't want to purchase this car and end up having to spend a lot to replace a battery. Please let me know.
A new battery from Toyota will be your most reliable choice for about $3500 You can also buy a remanufactured dorman battery for about $1500, but this is not a very reliable choice.....But has a3 year warranty You should really have the car checked out by Toyota, used car dealers are not very honest
-Thanks for replying to me, sir. Then would it be better if I were to just buy another used Prius that has a better battery? I would say yes, I think.
welcome to priuschat! if you are looking for a reliable car in the $3-4,000. range, i would look for a corolla or civic or similar, with lowest miles possible. a hybrid is gooing to eat your wallet over the next 50,000 miles. all the best!
