I think roof wraps look good regardless...heck the moon roof just blends in for the most part so it's like it's not even there at some angles. Regarding moonstone I just like contrast...hence I kept the fin white, lol. Hopefully I don't regret it in a few years and can kee it clean... Very nice set up. I thought about going to 17" but I didn't feel like buying new tires, lol. In a few years when these are gone I may consider it again because 15" is pretty small. Better handling and about the same gas mileage would totally be worth it! iPhone ?
So your thinking i'm fine with wrapping the roof without a moonroof? Man am I kicking myself. I should gotten one but here in WI we barely would use it. Plus to be honest I think I originally didn't get one to make it sportier and just unique I guess. Oh well... The more I look at the black interior it just looks dull and boring. Moonstone rocks!
For sure! The moon roof is tinted a bit and when the sliding inside piece (whatever that's called) is closed it looks pretty close to a black wrap. Only really thing that separates it is the rubber outline. But I can't argue your logic up there. I guess now the important question is...are you also a packers fan? Because Go Pack Go! And definitely agree on your assessment of black. I came from a Camry with black interior and I just didn't want it again. It wasn't bad...just felt boring. Moonstone really makes it feel different and futuristic-y! iPhone ?
Go Pack Go! In my shoes would you do the black roof wrap? I have an appointment tomorrow and just don't wanna do the wrong thing. So far the only members on here who have done it have a moonroof, so that's sort of my point , but I still think it would look much better. Right now I agree there's too much white.
Heck yeah! I'd say go for it! Even without a sunroof...I've seen plenty of other cars look sharp with a gloss black wrap and no sunroof. Also, I can say the gloss black matches the gloss black around the side mirrors and rear window very well - helps bring it all together. And I just noticed your tint which will look good too. Worst case if you hate it? You can take it off since it's a wrap. iPhone ?
I'm honestly not sure. I don't think it would show too much in term of scratches. No more than black paint. When I got mine done they guy doing it said 5-7 years... This is the first one I've ever wrapped anything so I unfortunately can't speak too much from experience. iPhone ?
Yep. I originally just wanted to paint it...but had a hard time finding a reasonable price so I figured I'd do this and if it lasts longer than 7, great! iPhone ?
Painting it would be ideal actually, but what is the cost difference? Another member on here did that. Here is his vehicle. This is where I got the idea for the wheels and tires.
Yeah I remember seeing his and thinking it was sharp! Painting is probably at least twice as much. I paid $240 for the roof. Paint was $5-600+ iPhone ?
Yep yep too pricey. An aftermarket Webasto moonroof is actually something I'm considering, I just didn't need or want the "Three" bells and whistles. Question is how badly do I need a moonroof vs just wrapping the roof. Has the wrap shine faded over time?
That is a cool idea if you want the moonroof. Though I think a wrap/paint would look good either way. I've only had it a few weeks but I've noticed no fade at all so far! In theory, if a quality wrap...it shouldn't really fade at all. iPhone ?
I forget do you have the Three or Four? What made you go that route vs a base model like the Two? The bells and whistles are nice, but I have no interest in using the Navigation since I use on my iPhone 100% of the time with the Waze app. All of the other things in that technology package just didn't appeal to me. A moonroof can only be had by adding close to $2k through Toyota's package option. Did you use the Avery Dennison quality wrap? I keep reading that is the best one to get.
I have a four with the ATP. I really wanted a couple features. I wanted a moonroof because it made me happy (thus I had to get the ATP - and i'm happy with the HUD/DCC). I also really wanted heated seats - this car sits outside it's whole life and I can't stand being freezing for most of my ride to work (~15 mins). Lastly, I really wanted something comfortable as my wife and I sometimes take long road trips (so along with lack of sunroof, i didn't want the 17's...even if it's still comfortable...it will compromise ride quality some, and thus the Touring was out). I also wanted some sort of color combination I could play with and make my own - hence white with moonstone. So those were my primary considerations when I was debating what to get. I do agree Nav is all but pointless...though i do use it a lot right now just so i don't have to load it on my phone...but i don't plan updating the maps... As far as wrap, mine is 3M. It's good...probably not top quality...but since this was the first thing i've ever wrapped - i'm very happy with the turnout.
When I look at a Prius with 15's on it ...to me at least it just doesn't look right. It's actually an eyesore. It looks like a MatchBox car so I had to get 17's for that reason. I average 63mpg and loving it. Between the Two and Three there is a $5k difference I believe when you add the ATP. By making some simple mods I get far more compliments that any stock model Prius out there Two thru Five. Most people tell me my Prius looks very sporty. I love when I hear that.
Oh yeah, def looks crazy matchbox. But I didn't feel like dumping more money into it. And then having to continue dumping more money as 17" tires are more expensive. If I'm going to spend any more money on mods, they will be for my other car ;-). Definitely a markup...but I didn't pay anywhere near MSRP so I can't argue anything there. Agree simple mods def make it sportier. But in all honesty, I like the looks, did some mods to enhance the appearance, and I'm happy with it. Get lots of compliments - always a good feeling. iPhone ?
I actually have a four with ATP. Was a little over 27k minus taxes. MSRP I believe was 32k something. iPhone ?
