Hi prius lovers, Anybody heard about itrax anti-theft system? The salesman suggested to install one in a Prius 2016 (price is 700$). Is it worth it?
The salesman will suggest you spend at least another $3000 on bits and pieces which you probably don't need - or can buy cheaper elsewhere. I had rust proofing suggested as "very important - TOYOTA almost insists on it - only $1000" as well as TINT, Paint, interior protection, all of which were double the $$ I'd pay outside the dealership. I responded - oh, you're selling me a car which will rust? No comment from the lady. If you're needing anti-theft, check out 1) is the system any good?; 2) is the dealership the best place to get it; AND 3) do you really need anti-theft anyway? Isn't that what insurance is for?
If you accepted the offer, they would probably give you the anti theft system and "forget" to arm the alarm.
when the checkout person starts calling out all these extra goodies I just have to have.... I state... IF Toyota thinks the cars really should have it, then they would put it on at the factory... I get no reply....
