These guys apperently want to blow up their friends Prius and make a short film. http://www.cargoboom.com/
I thought I've seen some dumb things before, but this takes the cake. Aside from wrecking a good car - don't they realize most cars exploded on TV are shells of the real thing? I would think there would be many issues to blowing up a fully equipped Prius. What about the potential destruction of the batteries and leaking of them?
Nah, the battery pack will survive unless the charge is placed wrongly rearward. Nevertheless, this crew ought to have a few gallons of strong boric acid solution on hand, to make things easier to handle later. One could not be sure that the gas tank won't join in the fun, and it is battery's closest neighbor. Following Mythbusters, I would hope for a few sacrificial video cameras onboard, transmitting the last few moments of vehicle integrity. So why _isn't_ Mythbusters in the loop on this. Or perhaps they are?
