I got the Toyota all-weather mats, very pleased with them. However, after several months (all the rain we've had over the past month hasn't helped), my original carpet mats look like crap. Does anyone have a good suggestion for restoring them? Someone once mentioned having them professionally cleaned, but I wouldn't know where to take floor mats- to a dry cleaner?

I wash mine in a front load washing machine. They come out looking great! (Line dryed, of course).

Well, I know they say not to on the tag, but I've used a steam-cleaner vacuum and it seems to work pretty well. Don't think I'd do this on a regular basis, though.

I lay them on the ground and spray any black stains with WD40. Then I soak em with a hose, and scrub them with a stiff nylon brush and soapy water. rinse off with hose and hang to dry.

Hey Nate, I'm not sure how your front loader works.. I assume there are no turning blades to rub them,... is that right?

Do you recommend washing them in a regular top loader?
If so on the gentle cycle and should one expose the carpeted side to the blades or turn them out so the blades rub the back of the mat?

I would also assume that one should fully fill the unit with water so as to lessen friction and likelihood of tearing the fabric.
