I actually like the synthetic seats. Toyota has been using it and so has Lexus (Nuluxe). It's easier to maintain; lighter, doesn't get as hot, and doesn't get as cold. Toyoguard Platinum gets added at the port. 2016 Prius 4T Premium Convenience Pkg 2016 NX200t F Sport
My main gripe about Gen 4 Prius is that Toyota promoted a redesigned seat for the Prius. They neglected to say they only used them in the higher trim lines as Softex and put the old crappy design in the lower trims like my Trim Two. That is borderline false advertising, IMHO. The poor seats in my Trim two would have likely influenced my buying decision. I probably would have bought a Camry instead. The Prius cloth seats are horrible for long-distance driving!
Huh? The seat design is the same for all vehicles. It's very rare to have different seat designs unless it's a sport model (extra bolstering) or an extra cost option (like on some BMWs where the "sport seats" actually include adjustable bolsters). It's likely more a product of cloth vs. SofTex (and one reason why I got leather on my Gen 3). Leather tends to hold weight better than cloth (Which can stretch). It'll result in a firmer seat experience compared to cloth. Perhaps that's what you're experiencing? Technically, yes. The seat design should be the same across all trim levels.
In that case they lied. I remember Toyota bragging about the improved seats. They are the same or worse than the 2015 Prius v trim 5 my son has.
The Prius v should e the same as Gen 3 Prius. Give me the cloth seats from my 1996 Camry LE! I thought technology was supposed to progress and improvements trickle down to other models. This obviously did not happen here. Your car may be different. The main US people defending the seat comfort have the Softex seats so I assumed the Softex seat padding & design must be different.

Yes, same in PRIUS v, but the SOFTEX seemed to be a bit firmer, likely to be the different material's characteristics - definitely felt different.
The softex seats on the 4 definitely have more padding, and can be adjusted higher to support long legs.
There is the Clazzio seat cover option for the Prius. That is something I am considering for my Prius.
Not sure on design/ shape of seats but IIRC, Gen 4 seats apparently can be adjusted lower than Gen 3 and the Prius+ (v) seats can be adjusted higher than the Gen 3.
Before you buy, check out a Camry hybrid, you might be surprised as the price is closer to the Prius than you might think, and still really good mileage.
I bought a leftover 2016 2 after deciding that the additions to the 3 were not worth the additional asking price. The 2 Eco was my first choice, but there were none in stock anywhere around Seattle, and now almost six months in I'm appreciating the rear wiper.
Welcome to PriusChat. I too agree that the 2017 three was not worth the extra cost. I bought the 2017 Two due to the safety features. For 2016 you would need to get a three with an optional package to match what is standard on the 2017.
